It is incredibly easy to miss the US Airways Club located in Concourse B at Charlotte International Airport. Located across the mini food court and between gates B3- 5 post-security, the lounge can be accessed by ringing the doorbell next to a pair of drab, grey doors flanking the lounge entrance.
A bright, wide reception area immediately greets you with two friendly US Airways Club employees. Complimentary T-mobile WiFi access cards can be obtained here. Flight information is displayed on a collection of ancient, CRT screens adjacent to the entry doorway.
US Airways Club is available to all Star Alliance Gold members, US Airway Club members, as well as those traveling in US Airways’ First and Business class with a valid boarding pass. One guest is permitted. Membership passes are available as well. Passengers of other programs should double check to verify if they have access to the US Airways Club.
The Lounge:
The US Airways Club is simple, business-like, and no-frills–a accurate reflection of the airline itself. Away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds meandering through Concourse B, the lounge is a wonderful retreat during peak hours. It features two separate, large, relaxation rooms–each equipped with a single television, and rows of quiet, comfortable seats to relax.
Food/Beverages
The lone snack center for the entire lounge featured a simple selection of snacks. During my weekend visit, a healthy selection of apples, whole-grain chips and salsa, trail mix, and Milano cookies were offered. In addition, beverages such as tea, hot water, and black coffee were available to patrons. An espresso machine offering a variety of espresso drinks (the type made from the pouches) will leave a bland taste in any coffee lover’s tongue.
Bar
This location offers a small bar offering a small selection of wines, beers and a few pre-made meals with an expansive, comfortable dining area featuring bar tables with a view of planes parked at Concourse A.
Business Center
The business center can located at the far end of the lounge (near the bathrooms). The functional, quiet, five cubicles center offered comfortable executive chairs, a multifunction copier/printer/fax machine. For those requiring a conference room, the US Airways Club in Concourse C would be a better choice.
Overall, for anyone with some time on their hands , I’d recommend hiking over to Concourse C to use the larger, flagship US Airways Lounge. However, if you’re pressed for time with a flight departing from Gates B1-B16, this club is a great place to unwind for a couple of minutes before your flight.
